The ABC's of Medicare

Medicare Part A: Hospital Coverage

Medicare Part D: Prescription Coverage

Medicare Part A: Hospital Coverage

Medicare Part A helps cover inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facility care, hospice services, and some home health care. Most people qualify for Part A with no monthly premium if they have worked and paid Medicare taxes.

Medicare Part B: Medical Coverage

Medicare Part D: Prescription Coverage

Medicare Part A: Hospital Coverage

Medicare Part B helps cover doctor visits, outpatient care, preventive services, lab work, medical equipment, and other medically necessary services. Part B requires a monthly premium and is an important part of your overall Medicare coverage.

Medicare Part D: Prescription Coverage

Medicare Part D: Prescription Coverage

Medicare Part D: Prescription Coverage

Medicare Part D helps cover the cost of prescription medications. Plans are offered through private insurance companies approved by Medicare and can help reduce out-of-pocket drug expenses while protecting you from high medication costs.

Medicare Health Plans Options

Medicare Advantage (Part C)

Medicare Advantage plans offer an all-in-one alternative to Original Medicare. They combine hospital (Part A) and medical (Part B) coverage, often including additional benefits like vision, dental, and prescription drugs. These plans are provided by private insurance companies approved by Medicare and may offer lower out-of-pocket costs compared to Original Medicare.

Medicare Supplement (Medi-Gap)

Medicare Supplement plans help cover costs not paid by Original Medicare, such as copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles. These policies, sold by private companies, help reduce out-of-pocket expenses, providing financial predictability. Medigap plans work alongside Original Medicare and do not include prescription drug coverage.

Medicare Prescription Plans (Part D)

A PDP, or Medicare Part D plan, specifically covers prescription medications. These plans are offered by private insurance companies and can be added to Original Medicare, Medicare Supplement plans, or certain Medicare Advantage plans without drug coverage. They are also combined with many Medicare Advantage Plans. PDPs help lower prescription costs and provide coverage for a wide range of medications.
